The tenth edition of the mountain bike race will have four stages

It will be part of the calendar of the International Cycling Union (UCI)

The tenth edition of the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike has already been confirmed. The mountain bike race, which for the third consecutive year will be included in the calendar of the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI), will be held between May 15 and 18, 2025 with four stages through several of the most spectacular routes of Gran Canaria island.

The event brought together 450 participants in 2024, being a considerable success, practically doubling the number of cyclists registered in the previous edition. The Dutch Rosa van Doorn and Hans Becking were proclaimed winners last year, in a race that Arista Eventos, the company organizing the race, continues to make efforts to surprise cyclists in each edition and have an even more attractive event on the mountain bike calendar. Since its birth in 2016, the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike has seen the presence of Olympic medallists such as Marga Fullana (Sydney 2000) and José Antonio Hermida (Athens 2004) or professional cyclists of the level of Luis Ángel Maté or Juanpe López. As well as several of the most important athletes in the modality such as Francesc Guerra (winner in six editions); Natalia Fischer (winner in 2021); Manuela Muresan (winner in 2020 and 2022) or the Portuguese Melissa Maia (winner in 2023). Also remarkable is the presence of local elite athletes such as Blas Rivero, Néstor Rodríguez, Luna Perdomo, Lourdes Betancor or Mónica Reyes, among others.

Registrations will open on November 5 on the official website. Participants will be able to register for any of the four stages and immerse themselves in the volcanic and natural landscapes of the island. A route that will bring excitement and beauty in equal parts, with winding trails and other faster and more technical sections.

The Fred.Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike, organized by Arista Eventos, is sponsored by Fred. Olsen Express. It also receives support from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the institutions Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes, as well as from the Government of the Canary Islands with Islas Canarias Latitud de Vida. The Ayuntamiento de San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Maspalomas Costa Canaria also provide their backing.
