The Dutch cyclist, a three-time champion of the event, returns to Gran Canaria after winning three of the four stages in 2025
The name Hans Becking is already part of the history of the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike. The cyclist from Limburg (Netherlands, 1986), a member of the Buff Megamo Team, has confirmed his participation in the eleventh edition of the race, to be held in Gran Canaria from May 14 to 17. Becking arrives as the clear favorite after securing three consecutive overall victories since 2023.
In the last edition, the Dutchman dominated with authority, winning three of the four stages. His 2025 season also included triumphs at the 4 Islands Epic in Croatia and the Roc Laissagais in France, as well as a fourth-place finish at the Brazil Ride Bahia. His return to Gran Canaria comes with a single goal: to repeat his victory in one of the world’s leading mountain bike stage races.
“The atmosphere is unbeatable, the weather is always perfect, and the landscapes are spectacular. Coming back for the fourth time is an easy decision. It’s a race nobody regrets entering, and the fact that the route brings new features every year makes it even more exciting,” says Becking.

A world-class record Becking is one of the most versatile riders on the international XCM circuit. A five-time Dutch national champion—three in cross-country marathon and two in Olympic cross-country—he has accumulated 32 stage wins throughout his career and currently holds the 31st spot in the UCI ranking. His most notable titles include victories at the Andorra Epic-Pyrenees, the Scott Marathon Girona, and the VolCAT BTT. In 2026, he has already secured his first win of the season at the VolCAT by Scott in Igualada.

Eleventh edition with new features The Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike celebrates its eleventh edition with a major update: the Half modality, consisting of four stages that share the first two days with the All Stages format. Registration remains open at www.transgrancanariabike.com, with various participation options and discounted accommodation packages at Dunas Hotels & Resorts.
