He has been national champion five times and lands in Gran Canaria after winning the 4Islands Epic
Hans Becking (Limburg, Netherlands, 1986) is one of the world’s XCM stars. The Dutch biker of the Buff Megamo Team will be looking for a hat-trick at the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike after his victories in 2023 and 2024.
Becking is a five-time Dutch champion in XCM (2019, 2021 and 2023) and XCO (2012 and 2016). He is currently ranked 24th in the UCI rankings, where he was number 2 in 2021, and has 30 stage wins in his pro career.
His recent results in mountain biking are quite remarkable. In 2024, in addition to his triumph in the Gran Canaria race, the Dutchman was also the fastest in another stage race, the Andorra Epic – Pyrenees. Triumphs to which we must add two podiums in other prestigious races such as the Andalucía Bike Race by Garmin, where he was second, and the South African Absa Cape Epic, which he finished in third place.

Becking is coming off the back of his last race win at 4Islands Epic. An undisputed triumph together with his teammate Wout Alleman, who won each of the four stages of the Croatian race.
The Dutch biker is known for being a very active competitive athlete, and even competes in the Gravel category. In 2024 he won the Safari Gravel, the first UCI race in Kenya, and the Gravel Adventure in Jakuszyce, a village in south-west Poland.
Dominance at Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike
Hans Becking has been on the top step of the podium at the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike in its last two editions. From the 15th to the 18th of May, the Dutchman will be looking for a hat-trick with which he will leave his name forever engraved on the Gran Canaria race. In addition to his dominance in the general classification, the Buff Megamo Team biker has won three stage victories on the island, two in 2023 and one in 2024.
The Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike, organised by Arista Eventos, has the main sponsorship of Fred. Olsen Express. In addition, it receives the support of the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the institutions Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes, as well as the Government of the Canary Islands with Islas Canarias Latitud de Vida.
