The eleventh edition of the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike, a mountain biking event scoring for the Union Cycliste Internationale (UCI) to be held between May 14 and 17, 2026, across the south and east of the Island, opens registration next Monday, December 22. It introduces a new modality called Half, which will feature four stages and a route 103 kilometers long. Registration, which will be available on the website www.transgrancanariabike.com, includes a flash offer during the first 24 hours and a discount for residents of the Archipelago.

The flagship modality will continue to be the All Stages, divided into four stages with a 160-kilometer route. The race will begin on Thursday, May 14, with the first day running through the Telde neighborhood of Lomo Magullo. The circular circuit will have a distance of 21 kilometers and 841 meters of positive elevation gain, passing through volcanic areas such as Rosiana.

On the second day, participants will move to Parque Sur in Maspalomas, the starting point for the time trial: 23.5 kilometers and 608 meters of positive elevation gain, with the finish line in the neighborhood of Ayagaures, in the municipality of San Bartolomé de Tirajana.

Looking ahead to the weekend, the epicenter of the race will remain in the southern part of the Island with the third stage, 46.1 kilometers long, starting and finishing in Cañón del Águila, passing through Lomo del Moral, Fortaleza de Ansite, and Sorrueda, among other locations.

On the fourth day, Sunday, May 17, the “Queen Stage” will take place, covering 69.8 kilometers and 1,665 meters of positive elevation gain, with the start and finish at Parque Sur. The route will initially take participants to Ayagaures before entering a loop through the “cuarterías” area between Maspalomas and Arguineguín.

For this edition, the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike includes the Half modality, which will also consist of four stages but with a reduced distance. This modality will share the first two stages with the All Stages category: the first day with a circuit through Lomo Magullo and the second day with the time trial between Parque Sur and Ayagaures.

The third stage will start from Fortaleza de Ansite and will cover a total of 24.7 kilometers to Cañón del Águila, where the finish line will be located. The fourth and final stage will depart from Parque Sur to complete a 34-kilometer loop through the “cuarterías.”

The Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike maintains the option for cyclists to register separately for any of the stages with the distances established in the All Stages modality, also offering the possibility of doing so in three-day or weekend (Saturday and Sunday) packages.

Furthermore, electric bicycles (e-bikes) will join the challenge in the fourth stage. Participation will be strictly limited to production models with a pedal-assist system, a maximum power of 250w, and a power limiter that cuts off at 25 kilometers per hour.

For the fourth consecutive year, the Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike will be a UCI scoring event in the S2 category for cross-country marathon stages. This means the top 25 finishers will earn UCI points providing access to major world cycling competitions, with 80 points for the winners of the men’s and women’s classifications.

Registration will open next Monday, December 22, at 12:00 PM on the website www.transgrancanariabike.com with a flash offer for the first 24 hours. Additionally, participants residing in the Archipelago will benefit from a special price. The organization also offers three-stage and two-stage packs, as well as the possibility of booking accommodation at a reduced price with the Dunas Hotels & Resorts chain.

The Fred. Olsen Express Transgrancanaria Bike, organized by Arista Eventos, has Fred. Olsen Express as its main sponsor. It also receives support from the Cabildo de Gran Canaria through the institutions Turismo de Gran Canaria and the Instituto Insular de Deportes, as well as the Government of the Canary Islands with Islas Canarias Latitud de Vida and the City Council of San Bartolomé de Tirajana and Maspalomas Costa Canaria.
